Welcome!
The RMS PTO is a nonprofit organization established for the purpose of
supporting the education and social development of Richmond Middle School students
by fostering relationships among the school, parents, and teachers.
All currently enrolled families and faculty are automatically a part of the RMS PTO.
Update on Future of the PTO
At the May 2025 Board meeting, a vote to sunset the PTO was tabled until the June PTO meeting.
Several parents have stepped forward with a willingness to volunteer, so we will use the time over the next month to outline ways to refine the focus of PTO initiatives to better reflect the current needs of the community and the time availability of those in leadership roles. The goal of this work would be that the organization could continue within a newly refined scope.

Teacher Appreciation Week
May 5-May 9
The PTO Teacher Appreciation Team has planned a celebratory week of
daily events for the RMS staff and faculty
with light meals and refreshments being delivered on Monday and Wednesday,
and a Mystery Event (to be revealed soon!) on Friday.
The events planned for Tuesday and Thursday
need Parent and Student support to make the week truly special!
- Tuesday May 6th: Student Surprise Day
- Please ask your student to bring in something small & meaningful to a teacher/staff of their choice. This should NOT be something expensive, instead we encourage homemade creativity (such as a poem, a drawing, a handmade trinket, or a lightly used book, etc) that illustrates their appreciation. PARENTS are also encouraged to send in a note or email themselves!
- Thursday, May 8th: Sweet Treat Day
- Please ask your student to bring in a small edible treat for a teacher or mentor at the school.
